As well as honouring the venues in the city centre which help make nights out safer and more enjoyable for all, the 2011 BBN scheme has been extended to cover the city as a whole for the very first time. This means that more venues then ever are eligible to enter, with a number of new categories also being added as a result.
For those who take part, the Best Bar None scheme offers a whole host of direct and indirect benefits, including the chance to be involved in a wide range of promotional opportunities, which saw last year’s entrants and winners receiving more than £33,000 worth of coverage across a wide range of media.
Some of the categories can be voted on by the general public which gives you the chance to have your say in which are the best and safest venues around Sunderland and help ensure those bars, clubs and restaurants are recognised for all their hardwork.
Voting is even easier this year, with the Sunderland Echo and Sun FM both running their own public vote specifically to celebrate a great night out
So please take a look through this site and keep your eyes and ears tuned to the media for more details of how you can get involved.
