Being part of the City of Sunderland Best Bar None (BBN) Scheme means being part of creating a safer, more attractive and welcoming nightime economy for the benefit of both visitors and fellow-businesses alike. But it could also have a more directly positive impact on your business…

As a member of Sunderland’s BBN you could be eligible for a number of key economic benefits, including significant reductions in your business insurance premiums and even one year’s free membership to the BII (British Institute of Inn-Keeping) if you become a category winner.

If your venue is accredited you will also receive a framed certificate and external plaque to put on display and be licensed to use the BBN logo on all of your literature and stationery, ensuring that you can be rightly recognised as a responsible venue which values the safety of its patrons in Sunderland.

We will also strive to ensure your premises receives the recognition it deserves by working to promote your venue to potential customers in our own promotional literature, as well as via the local and national media.

Over the past year our 2010 BBN winners have benefitted from a wide range of promotional opportunities, with widespread newspaper and radio coverage, website promotions, inclusion in a promotional DVD, magazine advertisements and even an invitation to the house of Commons and we’ve got even more planned for the winners in 2011.
